Reis looking forward to season opening British F4 at Donington Park
As previously announced, Reis is proud to be a partner of the 2024 ROKiT British F4 Championship, and we’ll be at Donington Park this weekend for the season-opener.
A strong grid for the 2024 season
The wait is over! The FIA-certified ROKiT British F4 Championship has arguably its strongest grid yet, with 22 future stars of single-seater racing taking to the track.
The race weekend format for 2024 sees some changes. While Races One and Three keep the same format as last season, Race 2 introduces a reverse top 12 starting grid, with the rest of the field starting in order of their fastest qualifying lap – which promises to shake things up on race day!
As was the case last season, the Race One grid will be set in order of the drivers’ second-fastest qualifying lap, with Race Three in order of the fastest lap achieved in the same session, meaning every lap counts when it comes to grid placement.
This season’s drivers
With returning drivers, drivers graduating to F4 for the first time and some new rookie drivers, this will be a competitive season of action to test all the young drivers vying for the Championship and recognition at the pinnacle of single-seater motorsport.
- Deagen Fairclough, who finished third overall in 2023 with 8 podiums and 3 wins, returns and is likely to be a title condender with the Hitech Pulse-Eight team.
- James Higgins joins Rodin Motorsport for 2024, having won races during the 2023 season, and will be looking to further advance on last season’s showing.
- Other returning drivers include Mika Abrahams (Hitech Pulse-Eight), Jack Sherwood (Rodin Motorsport) and Kai Darayanani (Fortec Motorpsort) – they will all be looking to enter the mix for the title this season.
- Ten rookies are joining the grid to begin their single-seater journey. These include Swedish OKJ Karting champion Joel Bergstrom who is joined at JHR Developments by Leo Robinson, the youngest ever race winner in the Ginetta Junior. The Phinsys by Argenti team is joined by Sheffield’s Rowan Campbell-Pilling and AMG Petronas F1 Team Junior Driver Yuanpu Cui. And with solid karting credentials, Martin Molnar (Virtuosi Racing), Yuhao Fu, and Chris Dittmann Racing’s Bart Harrison will all be looking to make an impression as rookies, too.
- There’s increased female talent on the grid this season with Chloe Chong, Ella Lloyd (JHR Developments) and Nina Gademan (Fortec Motorsports) making their debuts in the championship. Abbi Pulling (Rodin Motorsport) also returns to the British F4 championship for the first time since 2021.
- Alex Ninovic (Rodin Motorsport) and Alex Berg (Fortec Motorsport) have prior F4 experience, with Ninovic moving from Spanish F4 with Rodin while Berg has won a race in the F4 United States Championship.
- Brits Reza Seewooruthun (Hitech Pulse-Eight) and Maxwell Dodds (Virtuosi Racing) will look to leverage their experience in Ginetta Juniors in entering the F4 fray. Their familiarity with the British tracks could prove a significant advantage in this championship.
- There’s also a new team in British F4 – Xcel Motorsport. While new to the British series, they have dominated F4 in the UAE and will be looking to make their mark this season with drivers Zack Scoular (who raced in UAE F4 with them) and August Raber, a graduate of Xcel’s kart team.
Can Rodin Motorsport secure a third successive Teams Championship? With eight teams battling it out, it will be a hard-fought season and whoever comes out on top will be worthy of the title!
