Fairclough fairs well in British F4 at Zandvoort
Deagen Fairclough extended his lead in the ROKiT British F4, certified by the FIA series last weekend, after taking two victories at the championship’s visit to mainland Europe and the Zandvoort circuit in the Netherlands.
Fairclough’s pole and race one victory, was bolstered by yet another win in race three, meaning he heads to Knockhill in August with a 66 point advantage over his nearest rival, Alex Ninovic.
All was not lost for Ninovic either, has the Rodin Motorsport driver scooped the race two win to ensure the points deficit was not as large as it could have been after the guest weekend at the technical, yet sweeping circuit.
The opening encounter was a wet one, but it was a masterclass from Fairclough, who crossed the line 8. 9 seconds ahead of Alex Ninovic to take his first win of the weekend. Martin Molnar finished third, making his first trip to the overall podium and taking his first Rookie Cup win of the season. Maxwell Dodds added to his season-best form and finished fourth with Ernesto Rivera finishing his first ROKiT British F4 race inside the top 5.
The second race was in contrast, a dry one and it was Abbi Pulling (Rodin Motorsport) started from Pole position with Phinsys by Argenti’s Rowan Campbell-Pilling alongside her. Ninovic started from third with Ella Lloyd (JHR Developments) from fourth. Ninovic had grabbed the lead into turn one and didn’t relinquish it, taking his third win of the year, with Pulling second and Fairclough third.
Fairclough held on in a lights to flag win during race three, to ensure he remains in the pound seat as the series heads for Scotland in just under a month’s time.
